There are many parts of the world where there is the great number of patients who are suffering from Influenza. Therefore, according to the research done in America, there is the huge proportion of the Americans who are more than 64 years of age and are being diagnosed with the Influenza virus. Not only these Americans are having Influenza, but they are putting the other people around them for the great risk of having Influenza. This disease does not only put the patient in danger, but there are also the reports of having the severe Influenza complications which will put these immunocompromised patients to the danger of dying. The reason is that this group of the population is the most exposed one, and due to the different risk factors present around them, there are huge chances that these will have the Influenza which is much severe.
According to the researchers of NFID, the huge research is needed to be done in order to evade the chances for the patients having Influenza; on the other hand, the prevention of these patients in relation to immunization challenges is also very important. For now, most of the organizations around the world are looking for increasing the dose of vaccinations; however, there is the requirement for the new vaccination schemes in order to prevent the episodes of Influenza in the older patients.
Most of the older patients greater than 65 years of age are also predisposed to the other fatal diseases. Most of these are present because of the lifestyle these people had led throughout their life. Hence, in these patients, the presence of Influenza as the complications for the other diseases is not a surprising thing to find. However, these patients are required to be treated on preferred basis. According to NFID, there should be the launching of the general awareness program in the community which will make it clear that how the Influenza spread and how it can be prevented from being spreading. This will keep the older population from getting it and treating them.
